This is an invitation to participate in a study focusing on the South African Human Settlements Sector, leveraging your invaluable expertise in the field. Given the substantial resource consumption, waste generation, and environmental impact associated with human settlements, it is imperative to explore alternative, sustainable approaches.

This questionnaire aims to spark dialogue on:

  • The potential opportunities presented by a more circular human settlement system (outlined in Part 2) for South Africa.
  • The suitability of these interventions for the South African context.
  • Potential barriers to adoption.
  • The preparedness to implement these solutions in South Africa.

Your insights, based on your knowledge and experience in circular economy practises within the human settlement sector, are highly valued. Your participation in this survey, estimated to take approximately 15-20 minutes, would greatly contribute to our understanding of these critical issues. Rest assured, all information provided will be kept strictly confidential, and respondent anonymity will be preserved indefinitely. Your cooperation in this endeavour would be greatly appreciated.
