Report

Global

This report highlights global efforts to tackle the housing crisis and promote sustainable urban development. It presents progress in reducing inequality, fostering prosperity, addressing climate challenges, and strengthening resilience. Using case studies and impact data, the report illustrates how adequate housing is being advanced worldwide. Emphasising the urgency of placing housing at the centre of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the report frames it not only as a fundamental human right but also as a driver for broader goals like poverty reduction and gender equality. It outlines UN-Habitat’s achievements in 2024 across four strategic areas—inequality reduction, prosperity promotion, climate action, and crisis resilience. Ultimately, the report reaffirms that adequate housing is essential for a fairer, greener, and more resilient future, and urges all stakeholders to collaborate in making this vision a reality.
