Report

Asia, Australia, North America

This report provides an overview of post-disaster reconstruction and recovery. It examines how disasters affect households, communities, and economies, with particular attention to vulnerable populations. The report argues that reconstruction should go beyond replacing damaged housing and infrastructure. Instead, recovery efforts should reduce future risks and strengthen resilience. It emphasises the importance of rebuilding stronger, faster, and more inclusively. Through international evidence and case studies, the report shows how effective recovery strategies can improve well-being, support sustainable development, and reduce future disaster losses.
