Report

South Africa

The report titled Growth Through Inclusion in South Africa provides a comprehensive analysis of South Africa's economic performance, highlighting significant challenges such as escalating inequality, high unemployment rates, and diminishing international competitiveness. Despite efforts to stimulate economic growth through fiscal policies and social grants, the country's economy continues to stagnate, with little progress in social indicators. Three decades post-apartheid, exclusion remains rampant, prompting the report to enquire into the underlying reasons for the slow growth and persistent exclusion. Through a thorough examination conducted over two years, involving collaboration with various stakeholders, the report concludes that South Africa's current strategies are inadequate in achieving inclusion and empowerment. It underscores the necessity for new strategies and instruments to address these pressing issues effectively.
