Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa

Kenya

The Open Access (OA) Initiative, led by the Affordable Housing Investment Alliance (AHIA), brings together key market facilitators including the Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF), FSDAfrica Investments, FSDKenya, Reall, and International Housing Solutions (IHS). With a vision to enhance collaboration and transparency in the affordable housing sector, practitioners such as developers, financiers, and investors contribute their data and delivery experiences to a central repository, initially focused on Kenya. This collective database aims to become the comprehensive source of information on all investments into affordable housing across Africa.

By fostering data and information sharing among stakeholders and facilitating collaboration in advocacy and engagement efforts, the OA Initiative seeks to harness the collective impact of individual parties to improve the enabling environment for affordable housing. Through this initiative, economies of scale can be realised, leading to more effective measures in addressing the challenges and barriers within the affordable housing sector in Africa.
