This article is about the uMngenu Municipality that recently received an unqualified audit opinion from the South African Auditor-General. In a statement released by the municipality they attributed this to a significant improvement in the handling of the municipal finances including oversight, spending, record-keeping and compliance with regulations. According to the municipality, this audit outcome is evidence of the work they do to showcase reliable governance.
