This media article describes how residents of Mogogelo village in the North West have to dig holes to access water through a pipe connected to meters. Taps in the village have been dry for over 12 years, but water has not yet reached the two affected communities. The Department of Water and Sanitation says its implementing agent, Magalies Water is waiting for the municipality to sign the Service Level Agreement to enable one million litres of water per day to be available for the residents. Residents claim that while the Municipality says water should be available, they have to dig next to the water meters to access water. Intermittent water availability has forced residents to buy water from private tankers and neighbours have dug a well to access water.
