The New Urban Agenda 2022 Case Studies by the South African Cities Network (SACN) showcase practical examples of how South African cities are implementing the principles of the UN’s New Urban Agenda within the framework of the Integrated Urban Development Framework (IUDF). The report presents diverse case studies across themes such as inclusive cities (participation, mobility, spatial planning), productive cities (local economic governance, economic growth), sustainable and resilient cities (climate action, water, energy, waste), and well-governed cities (municipal finance, governance, capability). Its purpose is to share lessons, highlight innovations, and promote peer learning to advance sustainable, inclusive, and integrated urban development in line with national and global urban policy goals.
