Report

Africa

The South Africa’s Progress Towards Its Development Objectives 2020 Assessment Report is a performance tracking tool that measures the country’s progress towards the National Development Plan (NDP) goals using accessible and updatable data (PDF, 5.2MB). It highlights areas of progress but also shows that many key targets remain unmet due to delays in implementation, inadequate reforms, and limited adaptation to changing conditions. The report does not prescribe policies but rather provides a framework for accountability, encouraging decision-makers at all levels -national, provincial, municipal, and institutional to strengthen performance monitoring, feedback, and consequence management to achieve better developmental outcomes.
