The 2026 Pan African City Symposium & Exposition (PACSE), taking place from 22–29 June 2026 at Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha, is a global, cross-sector event that brings together policymakers, researchers, investors, practitioners, and community leaders from Africa and the diaspora to explore innovative, inclusive, and sustainable approaches to urban and regional development. Organised by the US Africa Collaborative, the symposium focuses on the theme “Smart Futures: From Smart Villages to Smart Economies,” addressing challenges such as housing, climate resilience, infrastructure, and economic inequality through plenaries, workshops, exhibitions, and networking. Designed as both a knowledge-sharing and action-oriented platform, PACSE aims to bridge research and practice, foster partnerships, showcase solutions, and promote practical strategies for building resilient, equitable, and future-ready communities, while also offering cultural experiences and site visits across the Eastern Cape.
