With the recent launch of WorldGBC’s digital tool, the NDC Scorecard for Sustainable Buildings, now is the opportunity for South Africa to align its built environment policies with our climate commitments, accelerate the decarbonisation of buildings, and take measurable steps towards enhancing our Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
Why this matters
Current NDCs globally fall short of the ambition needed to limit global warming to 1.5°C. We must take bold steps now. This workshop will support public sector stakeholders to evaluate existing policies, identify opportunities to raise ambition, and integrate the role of buildings into our national climate strategies — in other words, to be #BoldOnBuildings.
