The IBT Presidential Summit, taking place on 3–4 February 2026 at NASREC in Johannesburg, will bring together government leaders, industry stakeholders, financiers, researchers, and communities to accelerate the adoption of innovative building technologies across South Africa. This high-level event aims to tackle housing challenges, reduce construction costs, and advance sustainable, climate-resilient human settlements.
With approximately 500 participants, including the President of South Africa and key ministers, the summit will focus on aligning government policies, unlocking investment, driving research, and strengthening partnerships. Attendees will engage in plenary sessions on innovation, funding, regulatory frameworks, and explore an exhibition featuring cutting-edge technologies such as modular construction, robotics, and 3D printing.
The summit will conclude with the signing of a National IBT Social Compact, an actionable implementation roadmap, and commitments to industrialisation, job creation, and regulatory reform, positioning South Africa as a continental leader in modern construction.
