The Chair in City-region Economies at the University of the Free State is excited to launch a new Short Learning Programme on ‘Urban and Regional Economics in Africa’. Running over 18 weeks in an online format, the course equips participants with cutting-edge analytical tools and practical insights to understand and shape Africa’s rapidly evolving urban economies. Covering themes such as urbanisation, informality, labour markets, housing, transport, municipal finance, and emerging data techniques, the programme is designed for policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and professionals committed to fostering sustainable and inclusive urban development across the continent.
